Happy Friday dear friends!

I’m so happy that today is Friday because I really haven’t been feeling so fresh this week. I even called up my Naturopath here in Munich to get one of her vitamin shots, but even that is not cutting it. I think I might be coming down with a cold. 🙁 So, to boost my immunity I have been drinking green smoothies and Kurkuma Chai Lattes. Some people call them turmeric milk, but regardless of what you call them, they are really good. I make it with homemade almond milk, kurkuma powder, ginger, cinnamon, maple and freshly cracked black pepper. Regardless of the flavor combination you choose, you must use the black pepper so that your body can absorb it. Also, do not heat up the spices. I know this makes preparing the mixture a bit harder, but if you put kurkuma under heat, there is no point of taking it. So, heat up the milk and then add the other flavors to your cup.

Being that I’ve been laying low this week, I have been enjoying to light scented candles around the house. Sometimes the whole concept of scented candles sound so silly, because more times than not, they do not scent the house at all. This one from & Other Stories (called Le Palais Royal) does though and I absolutely love it’s smell. It’s not really a “fall smell” but that’s OK by me. I prefer summer and spring scents, temperatures and clothes anyways. 🙂 So yeah, love, love, love this candle!

For a very long time I was under a lot of stress at work. Slowly but surely, my body started reacting quite badly to all that stress. Luckily things have changed and most of the stress is gone (AKA I finished my PhD). This week I found a video that talks about exactly how your mind reacts to stress. It’s very informative and so important for us to understand so that we don’t get hung up on things that, in all honesty, most of the time don’t even matter that much. And pay attention to the part where they mention one of the best things against stress: EXERCISE!!! Enjoy!

Something that I also believe can help with stress is using/having crystals around. I am no expert in the field but I do have friends that are. One of my dear friends, Angela, has a beautiful practice in LA and recently launched a great website/blog where she talks about crystals, among other topics. Ever since I have an amethyst on my nightstand, I’m sleeping much better. So, thanks for the tip! Check out Empower Love Now and show her some love.

And last but certainly not least, my absolute favorite thing of this week is something that is about to happen soon. Tomorrow we are heading south and doing a spa weekend in Austria. You might find us in one of these gorgeous pools at the Aqua Dome. Can’t wait!

      Hi! I have not yet posted a Kurkuma Chai Recipe here. Should I post one soon? 🙂 For the almond milk I follow the classic 3:1 ratio, 3 parts water to 1 part almonds that were soaked overnight and without the skin. Blend it and pass it through a cheese cloth. 😉 So happy you like our blog!!! xo
